Kids can invent new versions of the story. Change the characters or actions. It’s a great way to transfer the grammar to new contexts.
Try mime games in pairs or small groups. One group mimes an action, e.g., ‘do karate’, and the other group guesses while using language from the story: ‘Today you will do karate!’
